News from Dr. Hawn

CT Scan results came back. They showed some additional spots on mom's liver and in her lungs. With the development of these spots, especially in the liver, the doctor suggested we for go the surgery and talk with the oncologist regarding chemo treatment. She expected them to come see us this afternoon. She said before they would be able to start chemo they would need to make sure the spots in her lungs were not pnemonia and that there was no infections of any sort. Mom has been running some fever, which could be due to the clots, but they wanted to be sure before they started the treatments. I would expect us to be here at least another 3 days while they administer anti-biotics. Dr. Hawn did say that the chemo treatments should be able to be done in Dothan. Okay, bad news out of the way. Good news is God is faithful and full of grace. While our view of grace and His may differ, I am assured through His promises that His love for mom and his wisdom is greater than any of ours. He sees all and knows all from beginning to end. Todd mentioned the story of Joshua preparing for battle. God continued to take resources and people away from him. He didn't do this to ensure his defeat, but to demonstrate that it is God's power not Joshuas' that would accomplish the victory. We will continue to pray for Mom's healing, but it will always be defined within God's will. Because it is His will that leads to the ultimate victory and joy of life through his son Jesus Christ.
