post-procedure

Mom is in the recovery room now. Dr. Griffith called the room and gave the following report:
She has a large mass covering the mid section of her stomach. He said it appears to be a tumor with a lot of swollen tissue around it. He took several biopsies to ensure that he got what he needed in order to diagnose what type of cancer, tumor, or lymphoma. The results should be back on monday, which will deteremine the next step of treatment that will be taken. He also mentioned that he would have a surgeon become more familiar with her. His fear is that the mass will puncture the lining of the stomach. He said there was a lot of bleeding, which could be serious. We are not sure of which surgeon he will be consulting. For now, they will continue to give her i.v. fluids, but that he did not recommend anything orally. A Dr. Critten will be by tommorrow to check on her.
